Policy Cover basis

Sorry to sound technical here but unlike many of our competitors’ arrangements, our policy cover (which is underwritten by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance plc) is written on a “claims occurring” basis, which means that the cover only has to be in place when the alleged claim occurred. By having the cover on this basis, there is no requirement to maintain the cover after one has ceased to trade for whatever reason, unlike cover which is written on a “claims made” basis.

The basic policy provides Public Liability cover with automatic extensions for Malpractice Liability and Products Liability for goods sold as part of a course of treatment.

Limits of Indemnity

We can provide cover automatically for limits up to £5,000,000 any one claim, but our minimum level starts at £1,000,000 or £2,500,000 dependent on the therapies/treatments to be covered.

Scope of cover

The basic policy provides for a therapist/practitioner to carry out treatments 1-1 on his/her clients, anywhere in the UK. Extensions are available, at additional premium, for:

  1. Workshops, demonstrations, group work
  2. Temporary work in any EU state
  3. Additional practitioners
  4. Student cover
  5. Products Liability for goods sold to general public
  6. All Risks cover in respect of goods/equipment used in connection with the business
  7. Employer’s Liability cover in respect of injury/disease to employees arising out of/during course of their employment.
There is a NIL excess applicable on the liability section of the policy.
